2014 Champions of Health Call for Nominations

The Champions of Health awards seek to recognize those who make a difference in the health and wellness of Oklahomans. Winners in select categories will receive a $5,000 contribution to their organization or program, and will be considered for the highest honor along with a $15,000 contribution. Winners will be announced at the 2014 Champions of Health Gala in September. To learn more about the event or nominate a deserving individual or organization, go to championsofhealth.org. All nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 30 and there is no cost to enter.

NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series

http://www.njcaa.org Location: David Allen Memorial Ballpark, 301 S Grand Junior college baseball teams all across America are on the Road to Enid. Ten teams will qualify for the World Series and the right to become the NJCAA Division II national champions. Schedule to be determined.

Red Dirt Run of Honor

http://reddirtrun.com Location: Woodring Regional Airport, 1026 S 66th St. Red Dirt Run of Honor is a 5K/Half Marathon memorial run held in conjunction with the City of Enid Memorial Day ceremonies. The Run of Honor is held to honor the lives and legacies of Oklahoma's Fallen Heroes who have given their lives in service to our country. The run connects the Greatest Generation with the latest generation and pays tribute to past and present service members who have and continue to protect our freedoms. Runners can choose to run/walk 5k course or choose the 13.1 mile Run of Honor Half Marathon. A Memorial breakfast will be held following the race at the Woodring Wall of Honor hanger at the airport.
